51-year-old MICHAEL ANTHONY GUIDER is charged with murdering the nine-year-old whodisappeared from a Bondi street on August 19, 1986.
A committal hearing at Sydney's Central Local Court has been told GUIDER, a convictedpaedophile, allegedly confessed to killing SAMANTHA by accidentally giving her an overdoseof a sleeping drug.
He had used the drug to stupefy children so he could photograph and molest them.
The prosecution alleges GUIDER made the confessions to fellow prisoners.
But Detective Senior Constable ROBERT TUCKERMAN today agreed with GUIDER's barristerJOHN STRATTON that GUIDER had never said he murdered SAMANTHA during secretly recordedconversations.
In interviews with police, GUIDER has denied having anything to do with SAMANTHA's disappearance.
